The Ska Beats cover Ska 2-Tone and off beat and punk influenced numbers with real energy and enthusiasm. Front man Robbie and their brass lads are famous for jumping about all armed with wireless microphones, with the aim of really getting the party going.

Expect to see hits performed from the likes of Madness, The Specials, The Selecter, The Beat, Bad Manners, The Ordinary Boys, UB 40,The Clash, The Jam, Northern Soul and even Tom Jones and many many more. The Ska Beats gurantee a show like no other.

Friday Night Live - Acoustic Beatles PDF Print E-mail

The Acoustic Beatles are a duo comprising of Brian O'Donnell and Phil Barker. Brian's passion was always the Beatles and one day he answered an advert in the paper looking for people interested in forming a Beatles band. He rang the number, Phil answered and the Acoustic Beatles were born.

They re-create the Beatles music using only two acoustic guitars and two voices. The pair compliment each other perfectly, both instrumentally and vocally; the harmony produced in their performance of Eleanor Rigby illustrates this well, in my opinion it surpasses the original.

The acoustic arrangements of these Beatles classics create a fresh feel to the songs and they receive acclaim wherever they perform.

Tickets: £5 (available from Hartlepool RFC)

Originally hailing from Hartlepool, but now residing in Sheffield, this compelling singer/songwriter is returning to his home town in April to perform at The Old Boys, where he will also launch his debut album.

Jonny was driven to learn guitar at an early age having grown up listening to rock n roll and becoming heavily influenced by the mid-90s Britpop movement. Starting with a cheap guitar, that was bought from a catalogue as a gift one Christmas, he began to learn the songs written by the artists who he idolised. Since then he has become a talented wordsmith with an observational style of writing. He describes his own music as being forever biographical without ever knowingly giving too much away. Having previously appeared in various local bands, Jonny has spent the last two years gigging in & around York and Sheffield. His set consists of original material with some classic covers thrown in as well.

Jonny's recently recorded debut album will be exclusively available to purchase for the first time on the night.

There are surely bigger and better things on the horizon for this young singer/songwriter.

Support comes from local singer/songwriter J.B Butterfield.
